The vegetation (plant communities) of Jan Mayen has been investigated for the first time in 1930 by J. Lid. The vegetation of Mt. Beerenberg has been studied for the first time in 1991 (Virtanen et al. 1997) and resampled in 2010 (Kapfer et al. 2012).
